Meemaw’s Classic Slow Cooker Brisket Recipe

Ingredients:

– 3-4 pounds of beef brisket
– 1 onion, sliced
– 3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 cup of beef broth
– 1/2 cup of ketchup
– 1/4 cup of brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

1. Season the brisket with salt and pepper on both sides.
2. Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Place the brisket on top of the onions and garlic.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
5. Pour the sauce over the brisket in the slow cooker.
6. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours, until the brisket is tender and cooked through.
7. Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with the cooking juices spooned over the top.

– 1/4 cup of soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons of honey
– 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
– Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

1. Season the brisket with salt and pepper on both sides.
2. Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Place the brisket on top of the onions.
4. In a bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, soy sauce, honey, and ginger.
5. Pour the sauce over the brisket in the slow cooker.
6. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours, until the brisket is tender.
7. Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
8. Serve the sliced brisket with the cranberry glaze spooned over the top.
