– 5 litres of water
– 1 cup of white sugar
– 8-10 bags of black tea
– 2 cups of starter tea (previously brewed kombucha)
– SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast)


1. Boil the water in a large pot and add the sugar, stirring until dissolved.
2. Remove the pot from heat and add the tea bags, allowing them to steep for 10-15 minutes.
3. Remove the tea bags and let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature.
4. Once the tea has cooled, transfer it to a large glass jar or container.
5. Add the starter tea and carefully place the SCOBY on top.
